Mitotoxin binders

Mitotoxin binders are substances used to mitigate the harmful effects of mycotoxins in animal feed. Mycotoxins are toxic substances produced by certain types of fungi that can contaminate crops such as grains, silage, and feed ingredients.

Mycotoxins can have detrimental effects on animal health and performance, leading to reduced feed intake, compromised immune function, impaired organ function, reproductive issues, and increased susceptibility to diseases. Mitotoxin binders work by binding to mycotoxins in the gastrointestinal tract of animals, preventing their absorption and reducing their negative impact on animal health.

It’s important to note that while mitotoxin binders can help reduce the negative effects of mycotoxins, they should be used as part of an integrated approach to mycotoxin management, which includes proper storage and handling of feed ingredients, monitoring and testing for mycotoxin levels, and implementing good agricultural and manufacturing practices to minimize mycotoxin contamination in the first place.
